There were over 700 contractors involved in the development of the eight world-class stadiums and tournament venues as well as the delivery of various tournament services. A majority of our contractors have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving workers' wellbeing by upholding our welfare standards and playing a pivotal role in meeting the legacy goals of Qatar 2022. Many are going the extra mile to make a difference in the lives of our workers.
Working closely with our contractors, Workers' Welfare & Labour Rights has been able to successfully implement several initiatives – from the reimbursement of recruitment fees to introducing grievance mechanisms for workers. Several of our contractors are extending these initiatives to workers not involved on the FIFA World Cup 2022™ projects, helping us witness the legacy in action even before 2022.
