All contractors working on FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ projects must provide appropriate housing for workers, in accordance with our Workers' Welfare Standards. Our contractors ensure that workers receive a comprehensive induction upon arriving at their new housing. This helps them settle in comfortably and makes them aware of the roles and responsibilities of key personnel on site.
We conduct quarterly inspections to ensure every accommodation meets our Workers' Welfare Standards. Our team has completed over 8,400 hours of accommodation inspections to date. As a result, over 60% of workers are housed in centralised accommodation built near stadium sites to minimise commute times.
Our strict standards ensure that workers enjoy good quality housing facilities, fully equipped with free amenities to help them unwind after work. Many contractors have upgraded pre-existing housing to comply with our standards.
Figures are as of 31 December 2022.
