After another tournament filled with outstanding action on the pitch, as well as memorable goals and enthusiastic fans supporting their respective teams, the 2015 Workers Cup has reached the final match as Midmac Contracting Co. and Outlook Trading & Contracting will play for the trophy on 10 April at 6:45 PM at Al Gharafa Stadium.

The knock-out stages of the tournament have seen some thrilling matches that had fans, some dressed head to toe in team regalia, dancing in the stands. With both semi-finals on Friday ending in 1-1 draws, penalty shoot-outs had to decide who would make it through to the final.

In the first semi-final, Outlook edged Mowasalat 4-2 after the spot-kicks, and fans and players rushed to congratulate the players after the decisive penalty saw their team reach the final match. Meanwhile, in Friday's other semi-final played at Lekhwiya Stadium following a Qatar Stars League (QSL) match, Midmac continued their impressive tournament showing by edging out Gulf Contracting Co. 8-7 after a seemingly endless series of converted spot-kicks finished with Gulf Contracting Co. missing their last penalty.

Talking to www.sc.qa, Issac Bah, the star Midmac striker who had the assist for the only goal of the game in Midmac's quarterfinal victory the previous Friday, was confident that his team could go all the way in the tournament: "It was a tough game but we are prepared and we are determined to win. Last year we reached the quarter-finals, this year we prepared well to do better. The tournament is very good, it has improved a lot, and we definitely are going to grab the cup this year. In 2022 I will be here, it is amazing to see a World Cup; that is my dream."

Midmac's involvement with football goes beyond the 2015 Workers Cup — the company is currently overseeing the renovation of Khalifa International Stadium, one of the proposed host venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™.

But even the teams which saw their trophy dreams ended for another year were upbeat about their participation in the tournament. Gulf Contracting Co. fan James Nwty, who wore one of the most inventive costumes of the day and also attended the tournament last year, said the third edition of the Workers Cup had again raised the bar for future events.

"I am having a lot of fun, the tournament is better than last year, there is more advertisement and we are enjoying the game and supporting our colleagues. I will be proud to support both Qatar and Ghana here in 2022," he said.
