For young residents of Qatar, a future in the sports industry beckons and there was a chance for them to learn from the leading experts recently when they met with the Josoor Institute. The latest session of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) Youth Panel meeting provided participants with the tools to discover their personality, develop their interpersonal skills and communicate better. Delivered by Josoor Institute, a centre of excellence in sports and events industries, the workshop inspired the youngsters to continue their personal development.

"I have heard about Josoor Institute and the training courses it offers, but I never expected to attend and participate in one of them," said student Dana Al Rumaihi, from Qatar. "I have learned how to see myself differently, assess that, evaluate my relations with others and communicate with them in a better way," she said.

Mohammed Zakaria, from Bangladesh, also believed that the workshop was a great encouragement. He said: "It helps you develop your personality and determine your objectives in life."

The workshop worked to empower and engage talented young residents of Qatar and advance their professional careers in the field of managing and organising sports and other events. It provided an opportunity to comprehensively examine innovations that are influencing the sports industry.

Suraya Arifa from Indonesia, said: "I liked the interactive activities. I have learned more about my personality, mainly because I have learned how to connect the dots in order to achieve goals."

Evaluating the workshop, speaker Tom Cross stressed: "The workshop focused on self-awareness and self-understanding. Discovering general personality traits is key to knowing who we are and how we work under pressure, as well as the 'blind spots' that we have."

Four prominent sports experts took part in the workshop: Dr. Clive Reeves, sports physician Tom Cross, high-performance specialist Steve Gera, and Josoor Institute Director of Education, Training and Development Ryan Bowd. Vazken Kurkjian, Programme Manager at Josoor Institute, also took part as the workshop presenter.

Before the workshop kicked off, a personality assessment of members of the panel was conducted to help identify how they think and the best ways for them to benefit from their skills and abilities.

He added: "If our self-awareness improves, awareness about others will increase, and we will be able to adapt and work more efficiently."

High-performance specialist Steve Gera emphasised that members of the youth panel are very influential and possess the skills required for leadership. He added that "the group must first gain the experience and knowledge to achieve that."

Gera also praised the Josoor Institute for the focus on training courses that help student innovation and self-development.
