The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) demonstrated its continued organisational enhancement after being awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management certification for Human Resources services.
As one of the world's most widely recognised quality management standards issued through the British Standards Institution (BSI), the ISO 9001:2008 standard outlines ways to achieve and benchmark high quality performance and service in the work-place. The SC is one of the first public sector organisations in Qatar to achieve independent certification of its Human Resources division. The achievement highlights the Supreme Committee's commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030 by building a capable and motivated workforce.
Mohammed Al-Marzouqi, Acting Assistant Secretary General for Corporate Affairs, said: "I am delighted with the motivation and dedication the HR team has shown in working towards achieving this prestigious award. It is further evidence of the SC's commitment to excellence, to providing high quality services to our stakeholders. We strive to ensure that a lasting legacy of human resources capability and capacity building is part of the vital work that the Supreme Committee undertakes for Qatar in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup."
The certification demonstrates the SC's understanding of employee needs and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to deliver meaningful solutions. Following the successful certification of ISO 9001:2008 in HR, the Supreme Committee now aims to roll out the quality management system to include other divisions and functions within the organisation, ensuring all departments experience the same enhanced employment satisfaction and performance.
The SC's Mahmoud Qutub, whose Quality and Excellence team has been leading the ISO certification process for the organisation, said: "The implementation of ISO 9001:2008 is clear evidence of the Supreme Committee's ongoing commitment to foster a capable and motivated workforce. Organizations that implement the ISO 9001:20008 continually monitor and manage quality across all areas of operation, as the system outlines ways to achieve consistent performance and quality service to all stakeholders. The Supreme Committee is committed to continually improving performance, and the Human Resources Division, who have worked tirelessly to implement the system, have already achieved a step change in performance."
Commenting on the significance of the award, Omar Rashid, General Manager for BSI Qatar, said: "For more than a century we have been showing businesses how to improve performance, reduce risk, and achieve sustainable growth. The Supreme Committee has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to improving quality standards and as such can be considered a role model for other organisations in Qatar aiming to excel."
