The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has concluded its two-day Roadshow at Bayfront Park in Miami, Florida, which sought to educate and excite locals about Qatar's plans for the tournament.

Over 2,000 Miamians, football fans and media attended the Roadshow over the weekend, visiting booths representing a variety of Qatar's leading sporting and cultural organisations.

The SC booth consisted of six scale models of Qatar's eye-catching FIFA World Cup™ stadiums and interactive video panels explaining the inspiration and design of each venue. In addition, Qatar Airways, Qatar Foundation, the Qatar Investment Authority, Doha Film Institute and even a replica Souq Waqif all offered various forms of entertainment as football freestylers wowed audiences with impressive displays of football skill on a mini-football pitch.

Mohammed Qassem Al Emadi, Commercial Assurance Manager at the SC, who led the SC delegation, said following the conclusion of the Miami Roadshow: "This was a truly special event that set out to excite and inform local fans about Qatar's World Cup plans. I was impressed by how much information people retained after speaking to our representatives and seeing our venues. The compact nature of the tournament, which means fans can watch more than one live game per day and follow two national teams if they wish, went down particularly well. I hope the U.S. qualifies for 2022 because our tournament has such a lot to offer fans from here. Miami has a deep passion for football and the response to our Roadshow has been fantastic."

Qatar's Minister of Economy & Commerce, H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani, and Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez formally opened the event. In addition, Justise Winslow and Kelly Olynyk of the local Miami Heat basketball team, and Kenny Stills of the Miami Dolphins American Football team, also attended over the weekend to learn about Qatar's hosting plans, meet fans and even try their hand at some football tricks.

The Roadshow forms part of the SC's involvement in a month-long business tour of the U.S. being led by Qatar's Ministry of Economy and Commerce with support from Qatar Chamber, the Qatar-U.S. Business Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Qatar-U.S. Economic Forum will stop in three more U.S. cities, beginning with Washington, D.C., Charleston, South Carolina, and then Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Roadshow will return in Charleston and Raleigh, with SC representatives using the opportunity to educate football fans across the Eastern U.S. about the first FIFA World Cup™ to ever take place in the Middle East and only the second in Asia. U.S. football fans have a strong heritage of visiting FIFA World Cup tournaments, with U.S. fans applying for over 87,000 tickets to the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ in Russia despite the U.S. national team failing to qualify.
